Only some trims. GMC's 2019 Acadia order guide lists Side Blind Zone Alert as unavailable on the SL and SLE-1, optional on the SLE-2, and standard from the SLT-1 upward. If your Acadia is an SL or SLE-1, it does not have blind spot monitoring, and an SLE-2 may or may not.
Does the 2019 GMC Acadia have blind spot monitoring? Trim breakdown
| Trim | Side Blind Zone Alert + Rear Cross Traffic Alert |
|---|---|
| SL | Not available |
| SLE-1 | Not available |
| SLE-2 | Optional, Driver Alert Package I |
| SLT-1 | Standard (Driver Alert Package I content) |
| SLT-2, Denali | Standard (Driver Alert Package II content) |
| All Terrain | Optional, Driver Alert Package I |
GMC's full name for the feature is Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert. It is grouped with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, so an Acadia that lacks one almost always lacks both.
How to identify your Acadia's equipment
- Check the mirror glass. Equipped vehicles show a warning symbol in each outside mirror.
- Read the Service Parts Identification label in the glove box. Option code UKC is Side Blind Zone Alert; UFG is Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
- Look for the package on the window sticker. On an SLE-2 or All Terrain, Driver Alert Package I is what adds it.

Adding blind spot detection to an SL, SLE-1 or unequipped SLE-2
GCH's Authentic OEM BlindSpot Detection with Cross Traffic Detection is a radar system built from original equipment components. According to the listing, it:
- Mounts its radar behind a plastic bumper fascia
- Adds cross traffic detection that checks left and right of the bumper when reversing
- Comes in a CAN version, which reads reverse, turn-signal and speed data from the vehicle network, and a VSS version, which connects to the vehicle speed signal wire
Contact GCH with your VIN to confirm the right version for your Acadia before ordering.
